The state government of Pahang continues to be committed in continuing cooperation with the federal government to improve the local Oil and Gas Service and Equipment (OGSE) industry so that it is always proactive in facing market demands.
The investment, Industry, Science, Innovation & Technology of the state of Pahang, YB. Dato' Mohamad Nizar Dato' Sri Mohamad Najib said, the State Government has targeted a committed investment of RM9.5 billion for 2023 through potential sectors such as oil, gas, petrochemicals and renewable energy.
"I am aware that the OGSE Industry is a contributor to the development of industry in Malaysia so from this RM9.5 billion, the oil, gas and power sector has gained RM800 million in committed investment for the first half of 2023, or 8.4 percent of the total committed investment targeted.
"The state of Pahang has taken several steps to support oil and gas activities and related industries, for example, developing Gebeng industrial area as a cluster hub for the chemical and petrochemical industry and locating many multinational companies and recently the State government with the support of the federal government has taken the initiative to address the issue of water supply to ensure a conducive environment for companies operating in the area,"
He said this in conjunction with the inauguration of the East Coast Oil & Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) Roadshow 2023, organized by the MPRC with the cooperation of the state of Pahang, specifically the economic unit (BPEN) here today.
He added that the state of Pahang looks forward to the opportunities available to be utilized by OGSE industry players from Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan in spurring economic growth and contributing to the achievement of the country's low carbon aspirations.
"In line with that, I call on OGSE companies from Pahang and the East Coast to seize the opportunities available through initiatives under the OGSE Blueprint for the enhancement of more robust and competitive OGSE companies, especially in the face of energy transition,".
